Side Table for Sewing Room
The only before pic of the cute little table I used to make the new one. I used the lower shelf & leg portion of this table. The table was dry, chipped, and in some places warped so I parted it out.
To the base I added the drawer portions from an old Singer treadle machine that was no longer used.
I then topped it off with the sewing machine top closure.
Gave it a good sanding, primed and painted the table. Here it isn't quite finished but soon I'll post the final look. This table will be used as a sewing room side table.

A Few Past Redo's
Ceiling Fan Redo's are never simple I don't care what they say. This one was worth it though I have to clean it much more often :P ... a year later and I hear a squeak on this fan don't know if it was the redo or just the fan getting old.
I found this old car chart bulletin board for $3. at a local thrift store. After peeling off the old sticky tape and sanding down. Almost forgot to take before photo.
I painted it with chalkboard paint and added some cork panels, trim paint, zippers & brooch flowers and a shell flower from my trip to GenSan, a belt strip for fabric rolls or paper notions and wala! my idea board was born.* and my little squirrel in the bottom right corner he changes colors. I'm still using this board. It always has a list of future crafts to complete hanging on it.
This large plastic mirror was given to me. I didn't care for it because it was plastic. I took it to give it some more thought. After all it was FREE right?!
I don't really care to revisit what I've already done something with but for the mirrors I will. We always think of what we should have done shortly after we've made a quick fix..soon I'll have some fresh photos to show of some special things I am working on right now.

I noticed that the molding was very interesting so I painted it white, and hung it last year over the mantel at Thanksgiving time.
At the same time *notice on the mantel these candle holders were painted sparkly silver..hindsight is 20/20 I'm told.. since it was Fall and Thanksgiving maybe they all should have been left gold. Alas I was so into the white theme.

Now this mirror I love! I got it FREE as well but this time its wooden **score** I liked it like it was actually..but my daughter-n-law needed a mirror for her dresser so I matched it to that and she uses it now.

When its returned I'll really do it justice! I like the way it looks like a fairy tale mirror. It came from a childs dresser set.I don't really care to revisit what I've already done something with but for the mirrors I will. Rocker Sewing Caddy Redo
The Before:
The After:
I picked this up at a local thrift shop for about 50. It reminded me of my Granny's old sewing caddy. Takes me back to sitting watching her sew on her treadle machine. My brother
and I would be sitting near cutting out squares of material for her to use. Sometimes we would be snipping off buttons on old clothes that are being reused to make something new.
I like the pattern of the new fabric it makes me feel nostalgic. The white just gives an "I am at home here" look to the piece. Only one thing puzzles me..that is.. I think there should be a drawer under the sitting area...?
